NZ + GST (per person)

This single-day course is tailored towards people who require the principles of operating forklifts and is suitable for those with little or no experience. The qualification earned is a desirable quality for staff, enabling them access to roles that require a degree of forklift use.

  • Participants gain a WorkSafe-compliant Forklift Certificate valid 3 years.
  • Certificate renewal can be attained within 3 years of achievement via resitting this course to extent certification 3 years.
  • Optional addition of 7 level 3 credits from NZQA unit standard 10851
  • Available for Onsite and In Class
  • Full-day course

By the end of the course attendees will have gained the ability to:

  • Demonstrate knowledge of the safe operation of a forklift; perform a preoperational inspection and start-up procedure for a forklift; demonstrate practical forklift skills; and park and shut down a forklift. (NZQA Unit Standard 10851).

WorkSafe-recognised training providers are available to aid in queries participants may have related to the course, guiding participants in practising forklift operation and safety management skills. This course can also be adapted to onsite specific scenarios tailored to your workplace.

Do note that optional NZQA credits earned from the course do not expire; these are a permanent addition to your academic record. However, the respective WorkSafe Operators Certificate required to operate a forklift does expire, thus requiring renewal every 3 years. Renewal via repeating this course further extends certificate validity another 3 years.

To be issued the certificate, there is a practical and theory-based assessment completed during the training session assessing participant knowledge against NZQA unit standard 10851. Assessors must confirm the participants’ ability to demonstrate the correct incident response and safe operating skills within the context. The assessment is accounted for within the course day.
