This single-day course is tailored towards experienced operators who hold a Worksafe/OSH Forklift Certificate and need to renew it for a further 3 year period, while also gaining the NZTA-compliant F endorsement enabling legal permission to operate forklifts in public spaces such as roads. The WorkSafe refresher renews your existing forklift certificate; the F endorsement covers road use. Both current and expired certificate holders can renew via this course. Attendees must have a valid full licence.

By the end of the course attendees will have gained or reconfirmed the ability to:

Describe the legal requirements involved in driving a forklift on a road, recalling driving procedures and general considerations for driving a forklift safely on a road, as well as assess environmental factors affecting the safe driving of a forklift on a road; and demonstrate procedures for driving a forklift safely and legally on a road. (NZQA Unit Standard 18496).
Demonstrate knowledge of the safe operation of a forklift; perform a preoperational inspection and start-up procedure for a forklift; demonstrate practical forklift skills; and park and shut down a forklift. (NZQA Unit Standard 10851).

WorkSafe & NZTA compliant training providers are available to aid in queries participants may have related to the course, guiding participants in refreshing forklift operation and safety management skills. This course can also be adapted to onsite specific scenarios tailored to your workplace.

This course is for operators who already hold a WorkSafe Operators Certificate, whether current or expired, and wish to renew it while adding the F endorsement. Renewal via this course extends certificate validity a further 3 years.

Do note that any NZQA credits earned from the course do not expire, these are a permanent addition to your academic record. The earned F endorsement is a permanent addition to attendees’ full driver’s licence and renews upon their driver’s licence expiry. However, the respective WorkSafe Operators Certificate required to operate a forklift does expire, thus requiring renewal every 3 years. This can be achieved through resitting this course, extending certificate validity a further 3 years.

To be issued the certificate, participants must complete both practical and theory-based assessments during the training session assessing participant knowledge against NZQA unit standards 10851 & 18496. Assessors must confirm the participants’ ability to demonstrate the correct incident response and safe operating skills within the practical context. The assessment is accounted for within the course day.
